When
you see dark-haired John and fair-haired Gena strolling down Fifth
Avenue in New York, even
the autumn leaves in Central Park seem dull by comparison. Heads turn
and people stare—that's how attractive they are together. Married
for over two years, the brand of love and respect they have for each other
is
truly a wondrous thing to behold. |
John Cassavetes and Gena Rowlands . . . two beautiful people . . . two talented artists . . . two happy souls that married under a lucky star called LOVE . . . John and Gena help each other learn lines. John's rehearsing for "Crime in the Streets," while devoted Gena coaches |
John
and Gena love TV, preferably live. John feels that he likes to work
before live audiences because
a greater sense of realism is attained. When he's not appearing on TV,
you can find him in front of his set by the hour . . . as an interested
spectator.
Both John and Gena have artistic inclinations aside from acting—John's
leaning toward the writing field, and Gena is a terrific amateur painter. Sometimes a fella's got to get in and just study on his own. Gena occupies herself, while John gets comfortable and studies his script. |
John is a native New Yorker and studied at Colgate University, as well as the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Before he got into show business he had thoughts of a sports career, namely life as a baseball announcer—that was until he saw a series of plays and got himself stage struck.
