Outreach:

One of our primary efforts has been to disseminate climate-related information and knowledge beyond the academic community. As part of this effort, I serve as a research consultant for the Union of Concerned Scientists' Northeast Climate Impacts Assessment, which investigates future global climate change impacts upon socio-economic sectors in the Northeast US and presents the results at various legislative and community hearings across New England. I am also a co-chair for the U.S. Climate Variability and Predictability Research Program (CLIVAR) panel on Prediction, Predictability, and Applications Interface; a steering committee member for the Infrastructure and Climate Network in New England; an expert advisor for the Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment for Cambridge, MA; and a contributing author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 5th Assessment Report. In addition I have worked with numerous media outlets (print, newscast, committee hearings, and public seminars) to provide active outreach beyond the University itself.
