Using Abbyy Finereader in the production process

Abbyy FineReader [v8.0] is Optical Character Recognition software used to extract text from PDF documents and convert them into machine-editable text for digital text production. FineReader is especially used both to clean-up documents prior to the OCR process and to perform OCR on documents. These documents can thus be saved in various formats (.doc, .txt, .htm, .pdf) for further production or provided to a student directly.
