Now comes the reason for all of our work - delivering the book to the student

The purpose this process is to produce textbooks in alternate formats for fellow BU students. Thus, deliver of materials is the final stage of production. Depending upon the preferences of the student (and technical issues), we currently offer the following delivery options:

  • Materials burned onto CD (one book per disk) using Roxio Drag-to-Disc
  • Students personal flash drives

    Students personal flash drives

  • FTP upload via outside Web 2.0 entities (such as yousendit.com)

  • Files eMailed to student
    • since the BU eMail system cannot handle these large attachments,
we maintain a separate Gmail account for this purpose [budisabilityservices@gmail.com]
the BU eMail system cannot handle these large attachments and we maintain a separate Gmail account for this purpose

We are currently working with BU-IT to develop an in-house FTP process that is Kerberos protected. Another option in the works is file delivery via CourseInfo and WebCT. When these options become available, you will be trained accordingly.

When the student takes delivery of materials, be certain to note the delivery date on the spreadsheet
