Very important: with a resubmission, authors sometimes want to submit information for the referee(s). DO NOT include this is part of your letter to the editor. Instead, attach it at the back of the manuscript. If you follow this procedure, then the information will be available to both the editor and to the referee. If you do not, but make it part of your letter to the editor, then it will NOT be available to the referee.
3. Referee reports for JME
Excellent referee reports are the lifeblood of any journal. Their value goes far beyond the final decision, improving the quality of research for manuscripts published in JME and those published elsewhere. The JME's founding editor, Karl Brunner, stressed that the refereeing process extends the net of colleagues for an author from a local department to the world as a whole.
