Channel flux study

(Lead Investigators: FitzGerald, Hughes and Fulweiler)

The goal of this subproject is to link the marsh processes to the tidal flat processes, and to parameterize the exchanges between these end members within the ecogeomorphological model. In specific, we aim to investigate the chemical and sedimentary fluxes between each of the these zones.

The research plan for the channel flux study includes measurements of:

• Water and Sediment fluxes, using Acoustic Doppler Profilers (ADCPs), Optical Backscatter Sensor (OBS).
• Biogeochemical fluxes.

Acoustic Doppler Velocitmeter, used to measure water and sediments fluxes. Autosampler, used to measure biochemical fluxes.
