Majd (Matta) Mayyasi

I am a postdoc at the Center for Space Physics at Boston University, where I spend most of my time studying the upper atmosphere of Mars. My research interests include analyzing remote sensing and in situ observations of the neutral and charged components of the atmosphere to better understand how various interactions in these regions can affect the escape of Mars's atmosphere to outer space. I am on the MAVEN imaging ultraviolet spectrograph (IUVS) instrument team, where I develop the pipeline to reduce high resolution spectroscopic observations and analyze them to derive properties of the D/H ratio at the planet, in order to better understand water escape.
