High Temperature Furnace Zyrcomat/Zyrcomat T SOP

Potential harzard in operation

    Preparation

  1. Check the electric power of the machine. Switch on the furnace and control unit. If there is any error code shown on the screen, contact lab manager.
  2. Check firing table for contamination, debirs, and cracks. Firing table should be clean.
  3. Make sure you have known the firing program you should use.
  4. Choose aluminium crucible and zirconia bead to support your specimens. Porcelain setter will melt, donot use in high temperatrure furnace!
  5. Dry your specimens completely. Drying in oven at 90oC is suggested. Moisture speceimen may chip during firing.

  6. Use the lift key to lower the lift completely.
  7. Place the sintering dish (crucible) in the center of the firing table and cover with sintering crucible. "Two-storied" sintering by stacking crucibles and the sintering dishes is possible.
  8. For Zyrcomat T:Set the firing program. DO NOT change prog #1-3, which are reserved for default firing. If you use standard VITA In-Ceram YZ zirconia firing cycle, select the default program #1. It should be 17oC/min to 1530oC for 120 mins. If you use standard VITA YZ HT zirconia firing cycle, select the default program #2. It should be 16oC/min to 1450oC for 120 mins.
  9. For Zyrcomat: Only the preset cycle for standard firing to 1530oC
  10. For Zyrcomat: Close the lift using the lift key. Hold the key pressed until the firing chamber is completely closed. Press "START" key to start the sinter firing.
  11. For Zyrcomat T: the firing table can automatically lift after you press "Start".
  12. Leave a log slip with the furnace indicating the furnace you are using, material type, date and contact phone #.
  13. The sintering program will then run automatically: Duration of the program cycle including cooling down to 200 oC: approx. 7.5 h.
    Warning: For Zyrcomat T, the firing table is lowered down below 400oC. At this time, specimens are still extremely hot for your fingers. Do not touch the crucible if the temperature reading is over 100oC.
  14. To start a next firing cycle, the furnace should be cooled down below 40oC. Or the firing ramp will not start untill the temperature drops to 40oC

    15. Finishing Up

    When you are completely finished using the furnace machine you must do the following:

  15. Remove your specimens. You can leave the crucible on the firing table or besides the furnace.
  16. Clean the debris if there is any. Do not any solvent to clean furnace. There is no need to clean internal compatment.
  17. If you cannot come to pick up your specimens. They may be removed from furnace and leave on top of your log slip. You may want to leave a boxcase with log slip to store your specimens.
