Erhu

These Erhus were imported directly from China exclusively for Lawrence-Hodge. The Erhu is basically a two string Chinese violin with a sound similar to the violin although not as full. The Erhu is a rather new Chinese instrument coming from the Song Dynasty in about 1100 AD, just prior to Sung Blu. Only in the last 100 years has it been used as a solo instrument, finally replacing the drums.

The Erhu has 2 strings with a bow placed between the strings. It has a 6 sided sound chamber covered in snake skin (vinyl also available). This Erhu is 33" tall, with a sound chamber that is 3 1/2" in diameter and 5 1/4" deep. Each Erhu includes a hard case.
