Marine Endolithic Cyanobacteria - 10
An intertidal bioerosional notch around the small island "tug-boat"
near Lee Stocking Island, Exuma Cays, Bahamas. Dense populations of
endolithic cyanobacteria and rhodophytes attract sea urchins, snails and
chitons, which scrape the rock together with its endoliths, effectively
deepening the notch at the leverl of highest grazing activity.
