Rivet 'n' Tuft:
"Operation Christmas" or "History of the World"

In this wonderful story Rivet and Tuft tackle the daunting task of
retelling the whole of the Old Testament from creation through to the
advent of Jesus in their own amazing way and from their own quirky
perspective… all in 45 minutes! (Gen 1, Phil 2:5-11)
Every child (and adult) has experienced what it is like to have had a
friend and then lost that friend to somebody else!
Jealousy, anger and frustration are no strangers to children. The
biblical account of the Creator’s action on planet Earth is a story of
friendships made, lost and then searched after again.
After creating the universe, the unseen things like angels and all of
the animals, Yahweh, the almighty powerful creator being, outlines his
plan about making a special part of his creation to his right hand angel,
Lucifer (Lucy for short). This new being would be given the ability to
make choices! Lucy ever so humbly questions Yahweh on the wisdom of this,
given that this new being may choose not to be friends with Yahweh. With a
quick explanation as to how free choice is at the heart of friendship
Yahweh shapes his lump of clay and Everyperson
(EP for short) arrives.
That is the start of a wonderful relationship between Yahweh and EP as
well as the growth of jealousy in Lucy.
The apple trick works and so begins the flight of EP from the garden
with Lucy as his new companion and mentor. The angels are distraught,
Yahweh is saddened (and some say not totally surprised) but he is
certainly determined to convince EP that he still loves him, wants to
forgive him and wants to be his friend forever…No matter what lies Lucy
has tricked him with!
Angels are sent to speak in dreams and finally Yahweh himself takes on
a disguise in order to befriend and then reveal himself to EP again. It
works! Operation Christmas is a success but Lucy threatens to get
even!!….But that is another story…Operation Easter!
