This story can be used in a lot of ways with a variety of audiences. Here are some:
| Junior Primary to adult audiences | |
| School assemblies | |
| Camps in conjunction with another story | |
| Seminars | |
| Religious Education classes | |
| Drama classes (Dramatic form is Commedia dell'arte) | |
| Personal development / Relationship exploration topics. |
There are number of questions evoked by this performance. Here are a few:
| Should the one who took the 'rap' have done it? | |
| Should friends 'dob' in another friend? | |
| Do you know anyone like the hero? | |
| Was the hero acting like a 'door mat', ie being used? | |
| What motivated the change in the one spared...law / love? | |
| Was Jesus a door mat type figure? |
The whole audience makes sound effects for the story. Several individuals become involved in the story as characters and object. Lots of fun!
The length of the performance is 25 minutes. The area needed is, at minimum, 3m by 3m, as well as a centre isle in the audience. Side isles as well would be great! We will also need good quality radio microphones.
