Dramatic Solutions Newsletter

Farewell, 2003

Text Box:

Hello friends of
Rivet ‘n’ Tuft “Cultured” Clowns

This short newsletter update is to let you know that there are some changes in the wind!

After working together for the past 20 years, and the last 5 years full-time as Dramatic Solutions, we will be finishing up full-time work this Christmas. Then we will be taking a complete break for 6 months. We wait and wonder for what God has around the corner for both families….in the way of work, utilisation of gifts and the new directions the Lord has in mind. Exciting stuff!

In June 2003 we will be meeting to consider what God wants us to do with Rivet ‘n’ Tuft in the future. Will Tuft’s “holy” boots finally give in to mould and mildew? Will Rivet’s fake stomach be eaten away by silverfish? (“It’s unwashable, so …No!…not even silverfish would go near it with all that sweat from 20 years!” says Kerryn.) Consequently the resources offered by Dramatic Solutions will not be available after Christmas. This includes full-time availability and touring aspects as well as the creation of new material for groups.

We are excited, expectant and quite curious about these changes and look forward to hearing God in them and seeing Him work. In the meantime we continue to minister and work in a variety of settings and places close to home and far away. This weekend Trevor and Grant travel to Perth for 2 weeks to work in schools and churches in and around Perth; then perform, teach and participate at the Perth National Conference of the Christian Dance Fellowship of Australia. A couple of days after arriving home our friends from “Collage” in San Francisco, Doug and Cindy and their family arrive in Adelaide for about 12 days of ministry, work and play!

Highlights Since the last newsletter

Brisbane / Gold Coast Trip

Rivet ‘n’ Tuft have spent time in Brisbane/Gold Coast in July. They performed 10 times in 4 days and caught up with a number of special friends we’ve got to know well over the years. A great time for the guys, but a little hard for the families who stayed behind this time…the first time in 5 years! We really missed that special family touring time in the warmth, while escaping the southern cold!

Darwin Trip

In August Trev and Grant went further north to Darwin. Arriving at the Adelaide Airport at the crack of dawn for an early morning flight, Trev was stunned to see Daniel’s school Volleyball coach on the flight with many of the Volleyballers from Heathfield High School. They too were heading to Darwin, but for the Under 16 National Titles. Needless to say, Trev and Grant turned up at the air-conditioned stadium to watch the Volleyball several times …both in clown outfits and in civvies to cheer on the Southern Aussies, who came 1st and 2nd.

Our Final Bookings!

It is very special that the final bookings this year happen to be at both of our home churches, Seacombe UCA (who birthed Rivet ‘n’ Tuft) and Sunset Rock UCA. They have supported us in so many ways in this strange ministry! We look forward to contact with you all in the future. Our next newsletter will be just before Christmas.

Special family moments since the last newsletter

Jacob (Year 10) loved work experience in multimedia and computer networking. No prizes for guessing what sort of courses and work he wants to do in the future.

Daniel’s (Year 8) Volleyball League team just won the Div. 3 Grand Finals (3-0) against the undefeated team! Oh, what a feeling!

Anthony (Year 6) has just started Gymnastics and loves it!

Ethan (aged 3) has also just started Gymnastics and is quite a star!

Michaela (aged 18 months) ….well…she just loves to party all night long! “Come on mum and dad, it’s only 3am!!”
