Christmas 2001
Happy Christmas to you…we wonder what’s been
happening in your neck of the woods…We have had a busy but very
fulfilling year and much to be thankful for. We are especially mindful of
the privilege it is to run our own business doing what we love in a time
where there is so much sadness around the world. We hope that what we do
makes a small difference somehow. May the peace and hope that the Christ
child brings be particularly significant for you, your home and worship
this year.
Warmest
wishes and God bless you for your part in our art.

Memorable
Moments
There have been some fabulous times away again this year. Once more the
golf clubs have appeared all over the nation! (Unfortunately, Grant’s
daggy old buggy seat broke in Bendigo on the last tour, but that might
have been a blessing in disguise.) Here are some highlights.
·
We drove into Carcultaby on the West coast and met all the
pub staff after their golf match. What a laugh we had!
·
We made careful arrangements to meet up in Nelson Bay after
a week of separate traveling and then accidentally running into each other
in the shopping centre.
·
Performing in the Space Theatre at the Adelaide Festival
Centre for the “Something on Saturday” series where we DID get to use
big bangs and fire, confetti bursting from the roof, and atomic smoke
bombs. Fantastic!!!
·
Our annual holiday show this year was “Jack, the Beanstalk
and a Giant…” It was a hoot and the audiences were great. Jacob was in
his element as lighting technician. With the help of Michaela’s toy duck
(that laid the golden ears!) and a parachute for the cloud, it was a
lovely show!
·
There was a spontaneous performance for 65 children at the
Christian School in Naracoorte. That was a special time.
·
We participated in the International Early Childhood
Education Conference here in Adelaide. About 1,000 delegates came to love
“R & T” especially when they gave the closing lecture, taking the
mickey out of internationally renowned speakers (and all with a power
point presentation!)
·
The Bible Society’s six-hour (32km) Bike for Bibles event
was a bit different this year with three unicyclists (and other various
bikes!) thrown onto the bike track. Some very sore butts resulted despite
massages…but the masseur didn’t feel quite comfortable applying the
massage where it was really needed!
·
We had a beaut time meeting up with the Allibone family at
Warrawong Sanctuary. We had coffee and cake with little critters running
around in front of us!
·
The pyrotecnics training was fun but the career was short
lived due to insurance hassles!
·
There were hilarious Westfield antics as Rivet and Tuft
stooped to supermarket work (but the pay was good!). It was actually
“Life Long Learning Week” at Marion where Rivet knocked down four
metres worth of primary school displays and got his arm caught in the
raffle barrel when drawing the winner!

On
the Home Front…
Kerryn and Rochelle keep the home fires burning while the
guys are on tour (about two months worth in total; the rest of the time
the whole family tours together). Being separated isn’t always easy but
it’s great hearing the stories when they get back. Thanks to all those
far and wide who put up with our big boys!
When at home Trevor
contributes to the life of his church by coming up with the most
extraordinary children’s talks imaginable. Kerryn loves to sing and has
just finished the Christmas cantata where she had a solo part. Grant is
involved with the worship committee at his church and often leads
services. Rochelle continues to head up Renovations Puppetry Theatre, who
present something creative each month in worship and are in the throws of
writing a new show of David and Goliath (ready for Perth in September!).

Changes
over the Year…
Increases in…..Michaela’s
red hair and Trevor’s grey hair! Grant’s girth, Jacob’s technical
skills and Ethan’s speech and dance moves (courtesy of Lorinda Curnow
our wonderful boarder)
Decreases in …the length
of Kerryn's and Rochelle’s hair!
Anthony added tennis to his long list of sports and Daniel (in his last
year at primary school) got into the specialist volleyball class at
Heathfield Highschool.
The Wrights added a beaut new
decking and sprinkler system for fire protection and the Wildies are STILL
finishing off their renovations…but they are almost there!!

And
Onwards…
We are very encouraged whenever the phone rings and a new opportunity
arises. This year we have been a part of some special “ministry” times
in schools, retreats, conferences and in churches and this has been
wonderful because at the start of the year we prayed for more avenues like
this to open up. We hope that 2002 will bring more expansion in this area.
We are also really looking forward to performing and teaching in schools
and to spending some time next September in WA at the next Christian Dance
Fellowship conference. Other trips that are new to us are those to Darwin
and along the Great Ocean Road through Victoria! Maybe we’ll see you at
some point or another. We look forward to that so keep alert and catch us
when we come through your part of the world.
We hope that we will meet up with you soon and that you would know
God’s presence with you as His star leads you on your own journeys.
