Company Profile

Dramatic Solutions provides performance and training options to address the entertainment and skills development challenges facing our clients. Through training we seek to help people develop skills to communicate with greater effectiveness in what continues to become a more visually oriented society. Through our performances we seek to open eyes to perspectives on life that move beyond the ‘concrete’ and the ‘individual’ and so encourage individuals to build communities.

Trevor Wright and Grant Wildman and their wives, Kerryn and Rochelle, work under the banner of Dramatic Solutions. This is a partnership that brings together their diverse skills in performance, writing, teaching, and training. Drawing on the experience of its members as well as a pool of invited performers, Dramatic Solutions meets the needs of its clients by:
delivering high quality performances in visual and story theatre
enhancing training presentations with visual and interactive content
offering training workshops in mask, clowning, communication, and group work
devising customized training vehicles, extended curricula, and performances to satisfy specific client requirements
providing professional development for teachers in the performing arts
interpreting faith perspective’s through theatre.

These artists are responsible for and continue to perform with the following performance companies: Rivet ‘n’ Tuft "Cultured" Clowns (est. 1983), Mask-Works (est. 1989), and Out and Beyond Theater Company (est. 1995). Each of these groups can be booked through Dramatic Solutions. Customized programs for training and entertainment are also available. Contact information is at the foot of this page.

Trevor and Grant have been working together since 1983. They perform as Rivet 'n' Tuft 'Cultured' Clowns as well as mask performers in Mask-Works. Their clowns Rivet and Tuft have traveled in Australia and overseas, performing and teaching in China (1990-92), South Africa (1997), and the United States (2000). They have performed hundreds of times all over Australia.

They have a vast clowning repertoire suitable for all age groups and situations. These include one to one clowning in intensive care units at hospitals, prison performances, church work, large theatrical performances, family celebrations, special events, schools, and business functions.

Trevor (Rivet) co-founded Rivet 'n' Tuft 'Cultured' Clowns with Grant in 1983 and Mask-Works in 1989. Trevor's interest in improvisation and spontaneity has seen him explore psychodrama and co-found You-Watch Theatre, a playback improvisational theatre company.

Grant (Tuft) has a B.Ed. in drama education as well as qualifications in counseling and has worked in both of these fields in the school context. He thinks that performing, teaching, and counseling are intimately connected. That vision influences his approach to theatre and training. Grant has had experience in curriculum development and policy writing for drama at both the state and national levels in Australia.
