1 - Introductions

2 - Scheduling Site Visit
       -Sometime in October- Saturday, October 24th/November 7th (time TBD)
       -BU Logistics committee will head the tours
       -To do: (1)email will be sent out to get feedback from participants, (2)compile list of room options- including fire capacities & floor plans, (3) compile spreadsheet of BU committees and chairs/members

3 - Room Reservations
       -Large Room (career fair, dinner)- does not require that we use Charles River Catering, allows us to choose a more econimical option
       -Ura will ask SAO Friday (9/11) for the list of caterers

4 - Timing
       -Career Fair- lunch time
       -Registration- 8 am
       -Morning Keynote- 9 am
       -This information is important for facilities management to know when to set up/break down

5 - Speakers
       -Dinner Keynote- Dr. Karen Panetta (@7pm)... (PROS) excellent background and speaker, (CONS) has spoken many times at SWE conferences; for Keynote, we're looking for someone who can represent a broader experience and at a higher level (CEO/Dean) Decision status: in-process
       -Morning Keynote- Jill Tietjen (@9am)...History of women in science and engineering; great historical perspective; well connected; her speeches can inspire many ages and demographics; offered to talk for not fee (except travel expenses); 60th anniversary! Decision status: closed
       -To-do: obtain title of the talk, 3-5 sentence abstract, speaker bios
       -"State of SWE" Address- possibly Nora, Siddika, or Betty
       -Both dinner and morning keynote are the same length (~45 min)
       -Keep in mind not to represent one company too many times

6 - Topic Ideas
       -6 Required tracks: (1) Technical, (2) Professional Development, (3) Personal, (4) Collegiate, (5) SWE, (6) Public Relations
       -Global Issues
       -Heather: will put a spreadsheet of options on the community website

7 - Update on Topics from Task Force
       -Upgrade event- like an award session for collegiate members
       -Friday night usually, honor graduating seniors with a continuing membership
       -Combined with an event (or stand-alone)
       -Can take only half an hour
       -Andrea: can add on the Activa website a question "if you're a graduating senior"
       -We can also modify name badges to identify seniors (as well as professionals, etc.)
       -Extra Goodies
       -If there is a "gold sponsor," they would not have to pay for the add-ons, but others would
       -Must be consistent among the regions...large companies that are present at every regionalconference would like to get the same goodies at each conference
       -To-do: provide career fair chairperson contact information

8 - National Conference
       -A marketing presentation to get people excited about the conference, BU, etc.
       -Slide 1: Show the keynotes, theme, date, locations
       -Slide 2: tracks, open for ideas, pass around pieces of paper for people to write down ideas
       -Get people interested about what's going on
       -Go through BU to get funding, or to sponsors or professional section
       -Takes place Thursday, 1-3pm

9 - Speaker Gift Idea
       -9 yr old girl (Name?) who makes pencils using her father's machinery
       -She has a video about the process
       -This is a great idea to give speakers, with a card explaining how the pencil was made
       -We will have to look up information regarding these gifts and talk to the girl as soon as possible
