AMSNA - SLI Garden Rules
As a garden member I agree to abide by the following rules, which are based on our by-laws. I understand that if any of the below rules are not followed by me, the executive committee (or some one representative) will issue me a warning. If I receive 3 warnings in one gardening season, I will have my plot access revoked and all food in that plot will revert back to the gardening community for the remainder of the season. An appeal can be made to reinstate me for the following season. I also understand that if at any point during the season I am unable to fulfill my commitment I will notify the garden coordinators.
I agree to pay a plot fee of twenty dollars.
I will maintain a neat plot that includes a clean edge.
I will abide by the established compost process.
I will plant my garden by June 1 and will make arrangements to have my plot maintained during any absences.
The garden maintains organic practices. Any soil amendments or fertilizers that I use will abide by this philosophy.
I will supervise my children while they are in the garden.
I will have my dog on a leash as he/she enters the garden and during their visit I will connect their leash to a stake inside my plot.
I will make a concerted effort to conserve water.
I will secure the garden by locking all the gates if I am the last to leave.
I will refrain from harvesting other people's plots. Nor will I allow food to go to waste. I will be aware of the status of my plot and will make arrangements for someone to pick my harvest if I am not available. I will not allow food to rot on the ground.
I will participate in both spring and fall workdays. If my schedule conflicts with these dates I will notify one of the coordinators and commit to another task sometime during the season.
I will commit to and perform one garden responsibility for the season. I will select the task at the spring meeting.
I will clean up my plot by November 30 for winter preparation.
