Parenting Gifted Children: A Dialogue with Dr. Scott Creighton

7-9PM Thursday 8 April

Edward Devotion School Library

345 Harvard Street, Brookline, Massachusetts

Please join us as CFACT presents an evening with clinical psychologist Dr. Scott Creighton. Dr. Creighton will share his observations and lead a discussion about a wide range of topics including IQ testing, differences between "bright" and highly gifted students, and parenting issues.

Dr. Creighton specializes in working with children and adolescents. He is currently working closely with Sage School faculty and does a variety of testing and therapy with intellectually talented youngsters. He is in the process of conducting some investigative analysis of IQ scores with Sage School and working on several articles about gifted students. He has been Director of Training and Director of Clinical Services for the Institute for Child and Adolescent Development, a nonprofit organization in Wellesley, and currently moving toward full-time private practice in Brookline. He has been on the faculty of Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology and Attending Child Psychologist at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

CFACT stands for Challenge For All Children Today. We support the mission of Brookline schools to "enable all children to reach their full potential." Our members, a group of over 100 families representing all Brookline K-8 schools, are working to help realize this goal. We want all children to benefit from academic challenges suitable for their skill level. We hope to prevent the problems associated with teaching children what they already know.
