About Us
Stage Troupe is Boston University’s oldest and largest extracurricular performing arts group for undergraduates that are not majoring in theatre. For over fifty years, Stage Troupe has been a leader among student-run campus organizations, providing the Boston University community with high-quality shows. Stage Troupe is managed by an executive board of six elected undergraduates
and overseen by a student group advisor. Each year, we present eight
mainstage shows, including Parents Weekend and Chairty show. Every
production is selected through popular vote by the membership. Each
show is cast and assigned by a skilled set of the student designers
and techinicians. General meetings are held monthly with the entire
membership. Stage Troupe also offers a variety of special projects to foster
new work and creative alternatives to mainstage shows. Every year
we produce two one-act festivels, 24-hour theatre weekends, in addition
to many other events. Stage Troupe’s special projects aim to cultivate
fresh, new ideas and respond to the desires of the membership. We are committed to our motto of “learning by doing,” so prior experience is not necessary to join Stage Troupe. If you have an interest in any aspect of theatre—acting, teching, writing, directing, or producing—you can do it in Troupe! Our group continues to grow and we look forward to the countless opportunites to make Stage Troupe the leading performing arts group on campus. |
