I no longer practice medicine, though I do teach Introduction to Clinical Medicine to first year medical students at Boston University. I now work in the data warehouse at Boston Medical Center, where I had previously served as a primary care physician. In the warehouse, we are working to aggregate all the clinical data so that it is easily accessible to clinicians. Our short term goal is to provide feedback about practice patterns and quality of care. In the near future, we hope to develop an operational data store, which would be available in real time, and thus, impact on clinical decisions at the point of care.
