The human body has always intrigued me. The diverse mechanisms in our body provide ways to recognize foreign organisms such as viruses and bacteria and offer resistance to infections. It is our enzymes, proteins, receptors, antibodies that work everyday and every night to maintain and sustain the way of life we so frequently take for granted. Our body’s adaptation to the harsh world is quite extraordinary. However, our defenses are breached and we do fall sick. It is then we need additional help in form of medications and antibiotics to cure us.

My research interests are drug target identification, target validation, drug development, understanding interaction of potential drug candidates with cellular signaling pathways and overcoming cellular toxicity. With the correct medical influence, the body may one day be impenetrable to disease. I believe that there are still many new and exciting discoveries waiting to be found, hidden within nature, and of beneficial use to humans and the environment.

I want to be a part of the next discovery.
