Dr.
Haley’s research examines the measurement and effectiveness of interventions
and systems of care in pediatric and adult rehabilitation services.
In particular, he is interested in applying new methods of computerized
adaptive assessments in clinical settings to monitor outcomes and to
improve the quality of health care services.
Presently, he is conducting a series of studies to
improve clinical measurement approaches for adults receiving post-acute
care rehabilitation, persons with Lysosomal storage diseases, patients
recovering from musculoskeletal trauma, and children and youth receiving
long-term developmental services.
Dr. Haley is the Director of Research at the Research
Center for Children with Special Health Care Needs at Franciscan
Hospital for Children in Boston.
As a physical therapist, he is an active member of the American Physical
Therapy Association, and participates in other professional organizations
and activities related to rehabilitation, pediatrics, health services
research and clinical measurement.
Dr. Haley is the recent recipient of an Independent Scientist Award
from the National Institutes of Health.
