- Analyzing and evaluating global trends in vegetation activity over the period, 1981-present, and correlating the trends with observational changes in climate surrogates;
- Studying the recent climate changes (and land use changes) and their impacts on large-scale vegetation dynamics over the north American/ Eurasian grasslands and boreal forests and the semi-arid regions of Africa, Australia and Southern Asia.
