The Muddy River is part of the Emerald Necklace of Olmstead parks around Boston. The Muddy River Restoration Project is intended to remedy the somewhat shabby state of this urban wetland...

These birds were seen on the stretch in Brookline between Aspinwall Avenue and Park Drive (by the Landmark Center, aka the old Sears Building); the Longwood T stop on the Riverside Line is in the middle. The photos were taken with a hand-held Canon EOS "Rebel" (hah!) 35 mm SLR with a 75--300 mm zoom lens and standard film, 400 speed mostly. An amateur rig, just for fun!
