Family Medicine

     Family Medicine is a newly added block in the 3rd year schedule. There are various sites for the rotation ranging from BU to Maine. Some programs have been cancelled, but may return to the curriculum in the near future.

You have the option of arranging your rotation at a non-BU site of your choice pending approval.

Basically, this rotation is a work in progress. We currently follow a fictitious family known as the McQs (grandparents, parents, and children) along with a random person known as Ms. Rivera as part of the curriculum of family medicine. We follow them along and will be expected to fine-tune our interviewing skills and assessment/plan.

You will become proficient in the management of all aspects of preventive medicine as well as acute issues.
