Project Management, The Managerial Process

Gray, C. & Larson, E. (2006). Project Management: The Managerial Process

4th Edition. New York, NY: McGraw-Hill/Irwin.

There is a new edition for this textbook, recognizable by the baton handoff on the cover. You can survive with a previous edition, but homework assignments, chapters, and page numbers will be different from my notes.

Rather than get either version, a better option is to get the e-book. This will save you $100!

See bottom of this page.

The e-Book!

Gray and Larson, e-Book.

I have set up an eBook at the Primis Online / McGraw-Hill website. It consists of only the chapters that are used in AD642, AD742 HY, and AD742 OL. Rather than purchase a hard copy of the textbook, you may purchase the e-Book for about $50.

This is an experiment, but I believe it is an excellent option. As far as I can tell, everything that is in the textbook is in the e-Book. Plus, if you are having delivery problems or are tired of dragging that heavy book around, the e-Book might be just the thing for you.

For students at sea on ships, in the military overseas, or on travel abroad, it should make getting the textbook possible.

Personally, I think the savings of $100 makes the inconveniences more than worth it. However, I take no responsibility for the e-Book (or for textbooks for that matter). I neither make money from this nor do I get anything out of it. I am doing it just to save you money and to make it more convenient.

Remember, caveat emptor.

Your eBook Options:

If you select the eBook, when you get to the purchasing page you will be given two options. You can either buy an “online” version or a “download” version. It’s your choice.

Online

The online version is available to you from any computer anywhere. You need only a reasonably fast internet connection to access it. The file size is about 3 MB.

Download

The download version can be downloaded to your computer, but you can then only assess it from that computer. It is available to you for ever on that computer.

Choose the option that suits your work style. If you only work with one computer, the download version might be the one for you. If you need to access the book from multiple computers (say at home and at work) then the online version is a better choice. Your choice is final -- you cannot change your mind later.
