Rob Schadt, Ed.D
Hello and welcome! Frequent references
appear in the popular and academic press about the "Computer
Revolution" and the "Information Super Highway".
Indeed the rapid development of information technology has profound
effects on academic culture which can be viewed from two perspectives.
On the one hand, information technologies provide us with great
capabilities to integrate different forms of information including
graphics and multimedia, provide access to various types of informational
databases, etc. and bring disciplines together in new and exciting
ways. At the same time the prevailing information-laden culture
requires us to use more technology and to become fluent in its applications.
The implications of both of these perspectives
should concern us. Hopefully this web site will be a resource to
help you along this journey. I look forward to sharing my work with
the university with others and hearing your ideas. Please feel free
to use the comments form or send me e-mail at rschadt@bu.edu |
