Urban Sprawl in Atlanta GA

Atlanta has recieved a lot of attention as a very sprawled metropolitan area. It represents a new kind of sprawl: very low density development at the periphery that seemingly goes on without limits. Since 1970, Atlanta has grown on average by approximately 1.5 square miles per week or stated another way, it has added a land area greater than the state of Rhode Island every 15 years.
