Dear Rotaract Members,
We are thinking of you in Kathmandu, and
wish we could have written sooner. Much has been happening.
We had a group who came from the US and install potable water
systems. The team came along with 1 doctors and nurses who examined
the girls and children who needed the most attention. Joe and
I tried to make their stay in Kathmandu as easy as possible.
Needless to say that we are putting your most wonderful donation
to good use and will give you a report. We told the nurses how
you raised the funds. They were amazed and very grateful to
you all.
Joe and I have been invited to speak to
the Rotary Club in Kathmandu on the 16th of March. It will give
us the opportunity to meet with rotarians.
Last week end was the day of colours HOLI,
where everyone has fun celebrating this ancient festival, which
also signals the arrival of Spring and warm weather. If you
do not want to celebrate do not venture out and leave the safety
of your home!!!!!! I put on my best dress bought for $4 dollars
- covered my hair with a meter of cotton for $1.20 and left
my shoes safely in the car, and went playing with the girls
at Maiti. A nice moment of joy in the life of these young survivors,
which we thought we would share with you.
Much to tell you.
Thank you to all for your precious support.
