The Burren Youth Session began in 2002 when proprietor Tommy McCarthy very generously offered us his front room for a kids' session every Saturday afternoon. We're also grateful to Sean Gannon for his support as we got started and learned more tunes. Today we range in age from 13 to 19, with a core group of about ten musicians. The Burren Youth Session has supported and participated in each other's community fund-raisers and charitable events. Most of us are students of the Boston Comhaltas Irish Music School and highly recommend you look there for lessons if you're interested in learning to play. Email us
