Students who fail in school get depressed and turn to drugs, drinking, early intercourse and violence as methods to make themselves feel better. Teenagers who drop out of school are at higher risk for becoming injured in a fight.
All children need to learn how to handle conflicts, tolerate frustration and disappointment and feel happy to be alive even when things are not going perfectly. All children will be safer if more children learn how to calm down conflicts between other children--without ignoring conflicts and without instigating others to fight.
