I am a mild-mannered classicist. My interests include Latin
literature
of the imperial period, first-person Latin poetry, literacy and
reading
practices in the ancient world, gender and sexuality in ancient
literature,
and literary theory.
::
My teaching has included Latin language and literature in the
original,
including Flavian literature and a survey of imperial Latin literature.
I have also taught Roman Civilization.

My other professional interests include Latin pedagogy and a rotation
of
interests-of-the-week that I can rationalize as being relevant to my
work.
I am capable of writing more interesting prose than this, although
you wouldn't know it from my
dissertation
abstract. Really!
