Persian Language Annotator, Virage SoftSound ( Boston , MA )

Virage SoftSound, a wholly owned subsidiary of Autonomy Corp., is responsible for the ongoing research and development of speech products within Autonomy. Virage SoftSound was founded in 1995 and uses technology originally developed at Cambridge University . Virage SoftSound delivers audio processing applications to enable live or recorded speech to be manipulated, edited, searched and hyperlinked as easily as text. This is achieved with a wide range of speech processing technologies from audio segmentation and identification through to automatic speech recognition and understanding. Virage SoftSound currently supports over 20 different languages and major dialects and is rapidly adding new languages.

 

Job Description

You will work as part of a team located in Boston MA to prepare language data necessary to develop new speech recognition capabilities in the Persian language. You will annotate Persian-language audio and text samples for use in training software algorithms. Successful candidate must be a native speaker of Persian and must be able to type Persian text or romanized equivalents using standard word processing tools.   Candidate must be able to communicate with other team members in English.
