It's Mission The Iranian Association of Boston is a non-political,
non-religious organization and has no affiliation with any political
or religious group. The IAB was established in 1989 with the help
of Iranian countrymen and other friends and individuals interested
both in promoting the social welfare of Iranian Americans and in
providing a community network for Iranian Americans, especially
recent immigrants, most in need of help and guidance. Over a
decade later the IAB remains deeply committed to continuing to
gauge the changing needs of the Iranian American community in
Massachusetts so that its activities and services can be best tailored
to meet the needs of our growing family. The organization strives
solely on volunteer involvement and dedication. The goals of the
IAB focus upon the improvement of opportunities and the
amelioration of various services available to Iranian Americans
in Massachusetts. Specifically, the IAB provides the following services:

# Aiding Iranian Americans in need by matching their requirements
with established Iranian American providers, such as physicians,
business owners, college professors, attorneys and other professionals;

# Providing language classes to enable each and every person the
opportunity to learn English or Farsi (for younger Iranians);

# Offering comfort and aid to families in distress by finding emergency
child care, social workers, rides to medical facilities and other family-
oriented help;

# Sponsoring activities to help next-generation Iranian Americans
learn and preserve our culture and heritage;

# Sponsoring seminars on various social and academic subjects
with the intent of bringing together Iranian Americans of diverse
backgrounds;

# Providing elderly-specific programs to help working Iranian Americans
in care of their aging dependents;

# Sponsoring programs and festivities to promote and preserve
Iranian culture and heritage within our community;

# Sponsoring sporting events to engage our youth and preserve family
values; and

# Maintaining a library of Iranian-related books and periodicals for the
community to browse.
