We are committed to capacity building and expanding the research and educational opportunities of scientists from the developing countries in which we work. As part of an National Science Foundation CAREER award, we will be working closely with Indonesian scientists from Diponegoro University as well as the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). As part of these activities, we will be bringing Indonesian scientists to Woods Hole to learn and apply molecular genetic techniques to their research, as well as interact with faculty from Boston University, the Marine Biological Laboratory, and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Through this exchange, we hope to expand the educational and research opportunities for both Indonesian and U.S. scientists.
