There are many opportunities to get involved in our group! The first step is to submit your Name, Email Address, School and Year to onbrdway@bu.edu to receive email updates about all our upcoming events. You can also join the facebook group!
Performing:
We produce two shows each semester, one mainstage and one showcase, and the auditions for these take place at the beginning of each semester. Audition dates and times will be posted on the website and sent out in emails. Visit our audition page for more information. Keep in mind, with only two shows, there is not always enough room to cast all the talent that auditions, so stay tuned each semester for tech and special events!
Tech:
Once the cast lists are posted at the beginning of the semester, the On Broadway Technical Advisor will host the first tech meeting. Anyone interested is welcome to attend: those who are cast in a show, those who have NEVER done tech, and of course... the veterans. You will then fill out an information form be placed on one or both tech crews for the shows. Positions include: Build/Run Crew, Make-up/Hair, Costumes, Ushers/Ticket-takers, Set Designer, Sound Designer, Lighting Designer, Stage Director, Producer, and Tech Director. Creative Team:
Because our group is completely student-run, we need YOU to direct, musically direct, choreograph and produce. For each semester, teams of students may "pitch" to the eboard the show they want to direct for the following semester. They can submit these either in the mainstage or showcase category. The Eboard will then review the submissions and pick the season's shows! We encourage everyone to pitch a show - even if it's your first time directing! This is your group and a chance for you to be creative and take chances.
Special Events:
Throughout each semester, our Executive Board will organize various events, unrelated to the shows of that season (but not always unrelated to Broadway). This includes an open-mic night, trips to local shows and other theater-loving events. Information will be listed on the website (visit our special events page for more information) and emails will be sent to all On Broadway contacts. If you have any ideas for events or want to help plan, contact us!
