Professional Accomplishments

 

Professor Lowenstein’s clinical interests involve working with individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and other neurological impairments, Assistive Technology, and elder care.  She is currently involved in clinical practice in home care and in the hospital setting.  Professor Lowenstein is actively involved with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as a presenter, wellness instructor, and on several advisory boards, and has a private practice.

 

Professor Lowenstein practices at Mt. Auburn Hospital’s Multiple Sclerosis Clinic under the direction of Dr. Linda Buchwald, and at Judith Wisnia Associates in Burlington, MA. Additionally, Professor Lowenstein is co-leading a Wellness Intervention for individuals with Parkinson’s disease along with faculty from the Physical Therapy and Communication Disorders programs. This program is funded by a grant from NIH. Students from the 3 programs are also involved in leading these groups under the supervision of the faculty.
