Late to work
Late to work is a miming guessing game for all players.
The audience suggests a type of factory. The guesser takes on the role of someone who is late for work at the factory and leaves the room. The audience suggests why the guesser is late, how the guesser eventually made it to work and what the guesser must do to win the boss's forgiveness.
One actor becomes the boss and two other actors become factory workers. All remaining actors take on the role of unemployed job seekers.
Actors arrange themselves with the guesser is the farthest stage right, the boss left of the guesser, the workers behind the boss, and the job line wither behing the workers or a fair distance away.
At the beginning of the scene, the boss faces the workers and complains about the guesser's being late. Then the guesser enters, and the boss starts asking the things for which the audience suggested answers. The two workers, behind the boss's back, mime answers to the boss's questions.
At any time, the boss may turn around to face the two workers. The workers must then freeze. The boss asks them what they are doing, and the employees have to justify their current position. If the boss likes an employee's justification, the employee stays. If not, they’re fired. The employee joins the work line and someone from the line takes their place.
After guessing everything, the guesser joins the workers and the scene ends.
