Faculty Katie Wolfe and Ketty Nez formed a violin-piano duo at the University of Iowa in 2003, and since then have performed at various venues nationally. Their concerts are a mixture of repertoires which feature commissioned pieces and works by composers including Eliane Aberdam, Martin Bresnick, David Dzubay, David Gompper, David Lefkowitz, Amelia Kaplan, David Liptak, Robert Morris, and Tom Schnauber. Their recent tour in January-February 2008 included performances at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the University of Rhode Island, Boston University, and the University of Iowa. Their upcoming lecture/tour in the spring of 2009 includes a premiere of Nez's between and Postcards from the 1930's, with performances at Boston University, UCLA, University of Wisconsin Madison, and participation in the Festival of Contemporary Music by the University of Iowa's Center for New Music.
