Who did bite into this red apple?
Who silvered the edge of this scarf?
Who did give these things to me?
This red apple is from a friend, "yi-ye."

I did bite into this apple,
I silvered the edge of this scarf,
I gave these things to my friend,
This red apple is from a friend, "yi-ye."

This apple was bred on a branch,
This same branch threw its arms apart,
Who threw to me this red apple?
This red apple is from a friend, "yi-ye."

Who did throw this red apple today?
This red apple is from a friend,
This apple fell down, it rolled a long ways,
Mahmud fancies me, "yi-yi-ye."

I took the apple, it was sugared,
This red apple is from a friend, "yi-ye."
I took it in my hand, sugared it was,
This red apple is from a friend, "yi-ye."
