Bio:

Hello, my name is Jordan Caleb Allen.  I first want to thank you for visiting my website.  The website is designed to give you a clearer picture of who I am as a individual, student, athlete, and leader.  I feel my talents go far beyond the athletic arena of football and track and field as that I have a lot to offer any University in various ways utilizing my talents as a leader, active participant and my positive attitude.  In this world of recruiting, I wanted to bring some level of sanity and personal emphasis to the process for myself and those schools potentially interested in speaking with me further.  I hope you find the website useful in your initial opportunity of getting to know me from a personal, academic, social and athletic perspective.

I am presently a Senior (Fall 2014) at Thayer Academy located in Braintree, Massachusetts.  I am the son of Angela and Jeff Allen and I have 9 year old sister Madison.  Both my parents are academics with my mother being an assistant superintendent in Brookline Public Schools and my father is a college professor in the School of Management at Boston University.  My kid sister Madison enjoys dancing, drawing and has started to enjoy basketball.  She never stops talking, but I find her smart, fun and exciting.  It's never a boring moment with her.  My family is very important to me and provides me with a support system that helps keep me grounded and strong.   I'm not a person who gets into trouble or creates problems.  "Trouble DOES NOT follow me nor know me".  Most of all, I'm a reliable, hardworking, honest, respectful and polite young man who represents himself, family and any institution at the highest level imaginable.    I'm a respectful young man with high moral character, a solid student and excellent athlete who is humble and hungry working each and every day to improve in every aspect of life.

As a student, I've made the honor roll, am a solid B/B+ student with a 3.17 GPA who prides myself on simply outworking others in the classroom and on the athletic field.  I pride myself on taking classes that challenge me as I've taken honors classes.  I've taken the SAT exam and scored 1100 (Verbal and Mathematics only).  I plan to spend some time studying and hope to break 1300 on those two parts of the SAT.  I have an overall SAT score of 1600 (all 3 parts).  I have an interest in the area of Business potentially focusing on Finance and/or Accounting.  Academics are incredibly important to me and you will have no worries about me taking care of business in the classroom.  My goals this year academically are to raise my GPA above the 3.30 level.  I truly understand the value and importance of an education and always take advantage of learning opportunities.  I was selected as one of 30 High School students across the country to participate this past summer 2013 in the Leadership Education And Development (LEAD) program host at by the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in College Park Maryland.  It was a 3 week summer program where we were exposed to the  functional areas of business such as Accounting, Finance, Operations Management, Marketing and Information systems.  The program helped to solidify my interest in the area of business and was a bit of an introduction to college classes.  I found it an enjoyable experience and was very comfortable with the college academic process.  I'm also involved in community service from making Thanksgiving baskets to working with kids who need tutoring.   I believe in giving back as I've been blessed myself.

As an athlete, I consider my best assets to be my speed, agility, pass catching ability and overall athleticism.  At 6'2", with a 6'6" wingspan, and 198 lbs.  I bench press 250 lbs and squat 350 lbs and I'm getting bigger, faster, stronger each day as I'm in the weight room both during the season and offseason.  While I have great speed (I've run a fastest 4.49 40 yd Dash), I'm a big target who catches the ball well over the middle and operates well in traffic.   I have no fear of taking a hit and always focus on making the catch.  As a receiver, I'm comfortable in the slot, out wide and out of the backfield.  Get the ball in my "area code" and I make the catch as I have a large catching radius and excellent jumping ability (39" vertical).    This past season as a Junior, I ended the season (8 games) with 22 receptions for 340 yards and 2 touchdowns and was second on the team in receptions and receiving yards.  I averaged 15.46 yards per catch.

I also run Track and Field at Thayer Academy and while it was very cold weather this season in Massachusetts, I had a very successful track season (Spring 2014) and ran some impressive times even with the cold weather.  I was the Independent School League (ISL) Champion at both the 100 Meter (11.11) and 200M (22.38) at the League championship on May 10, 2014.   In addition, anchored our season long undefeated 4x100 relay team time to the ISL championship (43.55) as well as running the 3rd leg on the second place 4 x 400 relay team with a split time (50.48).  League Coaches voted me Most Valuable Male Runner at the ISL championships with 3 first place finishes and 1 second place finish where both our boys and girls track teams finished first in the overall team championships.

At the New England Championships (MA, CT, NY, RI, NH, Maine), the following week (May 17, 2014),  I was the 200 meter champion in a record breaking (22.05) time shattering a standing nine year old record.  I came in 2nd place in the 100M (11.14) and our 4x100 relay team did a great job coming from behind with me anchoring the team to win the New England Championships (43.55); and we also placed 2nd in the 4x400 relay.

My best times of the year running the 100 meters was a hand-timed 10.80 seconds and electronic 11.09 seconds.  In my best event, the 200 Meter, I ran a  record breaking electronic-timed 22.05 seconds in the 200 meters.  Both the Boston Globe and Patriot Ledger newspaper honored me as All-Scholastics in Track and Field during Spring 2014.  I was also selected to the All-ISL Team and All-New England Track and Field Teams.
