Julie J. Keysor, PhD, PT

Dr. Keysor is an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Science, Program in Physical Therapy at the Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Boston University.  Dr. Keysor received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Behavior and Health Education at the School of Public Health, University of North Carolina.  She received a Master of Science degree in human movement science from the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of North Carolina and has a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from the University of Vermont.

Dr. Keysor’s research interests are aging and disablement, with an emphasis on community-based health promotion.  Her current research projects are 1) examining trajectories of disablement among elderly community-dwelling women, and 2) examining gender differences related to the processes of disablement.

Dr. Keysor teaches two courses in the Physical Therapy Programs: i) functional aspects of aging (Geriatrics), and ii) rehabilitation science health promotion, which is taught in a distance learning format.
