Academics
I did my undergraduate work at Utah State University. I graduated
cum
laude in 2007, earning BS degrees in both Physics and Mathematics, with a minor in Computer Science.
Following my graduation from USU, I spent a year at the Niels Bohr
Institute, at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark as a Fulbright
Fellow. I worked in the Stars and Galaxies group, with Jens Viggo
Clausen, investigating extremely metal poor halo giants. This is when
I decided I wanted to be an astronomer.
Upon returning to the United States I began graduate work at Boston
University. I spent 3 years at BU working with Dr. Andrew West as an
NSF Graduate Research Fellow. Somewhere along the line I picked up a
Masters degree.
I am currently in my fourth year as a PhD student, and have returned to the University
of Copenhagen (with an NSF NRO Research Grant) to work at the new research center StarPlan (Centre for
Star and Planet Formation). Here in Denmark I am working with Dr. Heidi
Korhonen. I will return to BU in August 2012 to finish my doctoral work with
Professor West.
