I'm currently a 6-year PhD student and finishing my PhD program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University (Boston, MA, US), advised by Prof. Ayse K. Coskun, and co-advised by Prof. Michael C. Caramanis. My research interests include: (a) data center energy management, smart grid and demand response, green computing, operations research; (b) intelligent analytics in cloud system management, cloud efficiency and reliability, big data, data mining and machine learning. I received my Bachelor of Engineering degree (the honors degree) from both the Department of Information Science and Electronic Engineering (ISEE), and Chu KoChen Honors College at Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China) in 2010.
I worked at IBM TJ Watson Research Center (Yorktown Heights, NY, US) as a software and cloud research intern in the summer of 2013 and 2015. In summer 2012, I worked at Orbeus (now acquired by Amazon) and Excelerate Lab incubator (Chicago, IL, US) as a full-stack developer and a research scientist. I served as the vice president of the Boston University Chinese Student and Scholar Association (BUCSSA) in 2011-2012. I worked at China Unicom (Hangzhou, China) as a software and network engineer intern in spring 2010.
I was born and grew up in Nanjing, a beautiful and ancient city in Eastern China. I joined Nanjing Foreign Language School for my high school studies. I'm a sports and outdoor enthusiast: I enjoy traveling, playing basketball, swimming, skiing and hiking. I also love to play chess, cards, Texas Hold'em and board games.
