Assoc. - summary of Wed, Oct 29, 97 meeting Status: RO Hello- I was a little disappointed that there weren't very many people at today's meeting (in light of the fact that only 3 people mentioned they could not come). I was hoping to get a group concensus on some issues. Nevertheless, this points out the need for a regularly-scheduled, weekly meeting. Therefore, please each send my your nightly schedules (say after 4pm) so that I can find a time that accomodates most people. The main things we decided on are the following: - Chris Richardson will continue to discuss the idea of a rally with CAS depts. In this way, when the time is appropriate for a rally, we will have all the "rally issues" sorted out. - A few of us are looking into making an appointment with the dean so that we can discuss the issue face to face. My hope is that in a grad. assoc. meeting soon, we can come to a concensus on what we are pushing for, e.g., + Just $1,000 more for continuing TFs? OR + $11,500 for everyone? AND + Do we want to make sure that any solution to the disparity doesn't leave anyone with lower pay than they currently have? - We also suggest that letters to the dean are CCed to the board of trustees, so that they get exposure to our concerns. Thank you, --Rob Pitts
