Profile:

Prof. Gerald C. Leader is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Director of the Public and Non-Profit Management Program. His special areas of research and teaching are leadership, organizational change, management of non-profit organizations, and the preparation of principal leaders for public schools. Currently, he is a principal investigator of a three-year $450,000 grant from the GE Fund, the BEST Program, that combines the Schools of Management and Education to improve the competencies of urban public school administrators. Prof. Leader has an engineering degree from Iowa State University and holds his MBA and Doctorate from Harvard University's Graduate School of Business Administration. He has been on the graduate business school facilities of Stanford, Harvard, and Tulane Universities. Prof. Leader held the position of Director of Office of Student Affairs while at Harvard Business School. At Tulane University, Prof. Leader was selected by the student body for the Howard Wissner Award for excellence in teaching. He is the co-author of the book, Autonomy in Organizational Life, as well as the author of a number of articles and teachings cases on non-profit, for-profit, and public school education management. For three summers Prof. Leader was on the teaching faculty of the School of Management's Executive Development Program and first year core MBA program in Kobe, Japan.
