About Us
The Environmental Student Organization (ESO) is a student group based out of Boston University. ESO strives to raise environmental awareness and create beneficial environmental change on campus as well as in the surrounding community of Boston. We are meeting this semester on Tuesdays at 6:30PM in STO room 442. Please join us. We will be discussing the activities for the coming semester and discussing how to best make BU green. ESO has joined 340+ other campuses nationwide in the Campus Climate Challenge. The Challenge uses the power of young people to organize on college campuses and high schools across Canada and the U.S. to win 100% Clean Energy policies at their schools. Global Warming and Climate Change is a grave challenge that we all face. As a major threat to us and our future generations, we must begin to act to curb global carbon emmisions and push for a clean energy future. The Campus Climate Challenge has united students across the nation in an effort to strive for change. Steadily throughout history, young people and in particular college students, have had the greatest influence in the political playing field. With the upcoming Presidential elections, millions of students nationwide will have the opportunity to voice their opinions, get out, and vote. The Climate Crisis is one of the primary issues concerning candidates in these elections. Voting for environmentally friendly representatives is one of the best ways to help solve our climate problem. Ultimately, the biggest long term GREEN changes will come from government. We need representatives who will work for our environmental health by implementing changes in policy. See our politcal action section for more details on how you can VOTE GREEN and for other ways to help out. Our group prides itself not only on being active and effective, but on being fun too! To get involved, join us at our weekly meetings: Meetings Every Tuesday @ 6:30pmSTO Rm. 442 CEES LoungeTo its members, ESO is not only an environmental student group, but a very social organization as well. ESO serves as the groundwork for an environmental community at BU, creating an atmosphere where like-minded students have the opportunity to congregate and socialize. With their common goals, ESO's members are striving together to create a more environmentally friendly campus and community!
