Work with a co-coordinator to hold office hours weekly in both fall and spring: recruit volunteers and chaperones, establish contact with the host site, plan and conduct pre-trip meetings for participants; facilitate group activities and reflections during the trip; assist with plans for the post-break meeting and create a trip education packet and manual for next year’s coordinators.

Meet weekly with the professors and teaching fellows for the course to discuss and share our knowledge of science pedagogy as well as our own experiences as students in the course; Work closely with TFs and professors to design discussion activities and materials to improve student learning; Work alongside a TF in discussion sections or lab sections every week, offering over 200 students a unique perspective as someone who already took the course.

  • Urban Engagement
Served as an integral part in the implementation of FYSOP and upheld the program including Opening Ceremonies, Education Day, Program Night, Social Events and Closing Ceremonies. Worked with 2 other staff members as a team in leading a group of 12 volunteers to create a better city conditions by working with and directly serving people in the visited sites. Led the participants in reflecting about their experiences during FYSOP.
