( Hockey )
I have played hockey since 4th grade. I owe coach Steve Armstrong at Pioneer High School for helping me become a decent hockey player.
From 2003-2006 I founded and built a strong Kalamazoo College Hockey team. From 2003 to 2006
I served as a captain of the team. I currently don't play enough hockey in Boston. I play rollerhockey every once in a while.
( Friends )
In undergrad I lived with the same four guys for four years. Their names are: David Siegel, David Nachtweih, Joel Hage, and Joe Mansour. Freshman
year, I lived with a guy named Grant, but he chose to become a model instead of stay at K. He was replaced by Tyson Cook, a fellow Ann Arborite.
I also had some friends in Ann Arbor/East Lansing, but I have trouble remembering their names, and most of them have moved elsewhere. One of them
even moved to Washington, and I don't think I'll see him for years.
( Family )
My family back in Ann Arbor has two cats: Sophie and James Brown. Sophie is my favorite family member.
( Music )
I like music and sound-related things. Favorites include Andrew Bird, DeVotchKa, The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens, and Wilco.
( Philosophy )
I studied philosophy at Kalamazoo College. Chris Latiolais from the philosophy department was my advisor. My favorite
philosophy course was Philosophy of East Asian Aesthetics (Behuniak) followed closely by Philosophy of Language (Latiolais).
( Bikes )
Once upon a time I was very interested in cars. But then mine broke. So now I remain more angry than interested. I (used to) have a 1989 Mazda RX-7 GXL.
Now I ride bikes instead. I take long rides on a Wilier Alpe D'Huez frame with '07 Record components and wheels I built up myself. I ride my old-school late-80's Super Vitus Peugeot with '04 Ultegra/DA that I ride when I'm feeling steely. I also have a commuter built up with a Raleigh Team cross cyclocross frame, angry yellow fenders, and a horn.
