Positions Available
A postdoctoral position is available studying odor coding and processing in the rodent olfactory system. One theme of the lab is the role of odor sampling behavior in shaping odor representations and information processing. A second theme is the functional recovery of olfactory neurons and odor representations after neuronal loss. In vivo fluorescence imaging from defined neuron populations is a primary tool in the lab, complemented by behavioral, electrophysiological, and computational approaches. Preparations include both anesthetized and awake behaving animals as well as brain slices. The lab is well-equipped to support a number of potential projects, depending on interest.
Postdoctoral researchers will be part of a strong and growing community of systems- and cellular-level neuroscientists at BU and in the greater Boston area. PhD graduates with an interest in sensory systems are encouraged to apply. Experience in imaging or in vivo mammalian neurophysiology is important. Interested persons should send a CV and a brief e-mail (dmattw@bu.edu) message describing their interests and relevant experience.
